I painted this from life when I lived in Southern California. This wash is behind The Adamson House in Malibu, on PCH, where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean. I had been to this spot many times and was always attracted to the shape of that tree. It had been there for many years and it was a pleasure to finally paint it. Some tourists even filmed me.
